Review of San Francisco show and audio interview done before the show.
Equal anticipated two things… boah, I am old and my son (if I had one) would not have such hair…. Joking, but they are really high hair.
Sun, and now Tokio Hotel concert in San Francisco on tonight. The boys from Magdeburg played at the legendary Fillmore. At the same place where all already well-known artists of the live music business… played Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty… and now depends also tour the posters of Tokyo hotel on the colorful wall.
And you have to say, Tokyo hotel the store for quite Wackeln. Even hours in advance were mostly young, female fans in the snake and fieberten the performance. Before the curtain fell, said the Rowdies, they should get a little reconnaissance work in rock and you ballerten AC / DC and Aerosmith in the room. But if they can be saved, because the four German rockers know very well what a real Rockharke.
And then there was no stopping more… in front of the stage, the devil was going on. This wild and ohrenbetäubendes Gekreische… it went los… and rocked the Tokyo hotel room. The four Magdeburg had their audience firmly in the hands. Except for the addition of "Through the Monsoon" were all songs sung in English. He was already in the program in English the highlight of the evening and was assisted by a choir accompanied kreischenden girls.
The show was perfect, the mood is great and at the end you could say that these promotional tour for Tokyo hotel is full. And singer Bill already announced from the stage from that, the band soon back in San Francisco will be. And even I, with AC / DC, Uriah Heep and Rainbow I grew up, was at the end of this young band convinced that really a class show in the Fillmore abzogen.
Before the concert I had the opportunity to Tokyo hotel to speak and it was one of the most comfortable and for me most surprising interviews I've ever run. Although the four had every reason, aloof and tired of other issues to be journalists, they were friendly, polite and friendly and very open, honest and on the bottom of the facts. But, listen for yourself….
a radio interview resume by ONERVA!
Short recap of the most important things:
- They will have 2 weeks holidays this year
- Bill & Tom wanted to have the day off at their birthday but they won't because it's not possible with their schedule this year
- They are very pleased that they could show all the critis who said 3 years ago DDM would be their only hit, that they were wrong
- after the US tour they will lock themselves in the studio and work on the new album. There will be no TV shows and no interviews in that time. Bill says he needs the time off to clear his head, because he can't concentrate on working on the new stuff, while he's still perfomring the old songs every night
- The tour in the US is more Rock 'n' Roll lifestyle that in Europe, because of the atmosphere of the small clubs and because everything is busier due the tight schedule. That thight schedule also leaves no room for sex & drugs.
Georg says the time for drugs & sex is long gone. Tom says they never did lots of drugs anyway (o_O lol ), only boozing from time to time... and he has less sex in america than Europe, because there is less time. He still enjoys the tour thoug.

TOKIO HOTEL VUELVE LOCA A AMERICA

PT: Super Pop- Tokio Hotel – They live their best moment
They made it!!! Never a german band has made so much sucess in the USA...Do you want to know how their last days have been?
A-MA-ZING!!! That’s how the last days of our four boys have been...They arrived to the USA in the beginning of the month and they’ll stay there till the 29th! Only after will they have right to rest...or not...because they’re nominated for the MTV Video Music Awards, that will happen next September!
A week on TRL
It’s not every band that is invited to appear during a whole week in one of the most watched programms of the American TV, TRL! But Tokio Hotel are special and in the week they’ve arrived to the US they went to the programm every day, which to top it is broacasted all over the world through MTV! They loved to be there and showed themselves pretty at ease! They even spoke always in english and all!!! What TH enjoyed the most was the possibility to be closer to the fans (the audience was always packed with them, some from far away), that made them lots of questions... And they didn’t deny answers! It was very nice!!!
Big tour
But defenitely what has given more pleasure to our boys are the concerts! The tour includes nine shows through the country (and one in Canada) which demands lots of energy! But who runs for pleasure, never gets tired, right? And Bill has already said in an interview: «It was always our dream to perform in America». Dream accomplished!!!
Two nominations
But what’s happening to Tokio Hotel goes way beyond their dreams!!! They never thought of being nominated to the MTV Video Music Awards and right now they’re on the run for the award, not in one but in two categories... That’s right they’re candidates to the award «Best New Artist», with «Monsoon», and «Best Pop Video», with «Ready, Set, Go», better than this only if they win... and for that you can vote!!! Go right now to www. mtv.com and register!!!

Nothing gives hope as German pop [swed]
We had a celebration for Durch Den Monsun in Malmö, Sweden, and the newspaper SYDSVENSKAN wrote this about the meeting and the fans.

NOTHING GIVES HOPE AS GERMAN POP
A raised placard of beige cardboard is waving ahead among the tourist streak from Gustav Adolfs Square [big square in malmö] and Trianglen [other square, smaller] in Malmö. "We're not crazy, we're Tokio Hotel Fans", it's says, and it has a reason.[lol I made it]
Tokio Hotel is a German popband which has during the latest year slowly become a phenomen even outside the German-speaking world. The fanbase is big, yet obviously closed. The Tokio Hotel-gathering [the journalist is actually using the word "colony" here but it sounds wrong in English] with about 30 followers that moved in the crowd of the festival [yearly festival in Malmö, just started] was very representative. They're all girls, almost everyone between 12 and 16.
- Though in the U.S. it's a bit different, you could be both guy and older and still like them, they explain. [not exacly correct quoted, but whatever].
It's in the U.S. that the band is beeing right now: the one that believes that the girls are in town to see the their favourite band onstage is mistaking. The fans has gathered only to behold that on the Friday, it's three years ago the band released their first single.
- It's not only here [in Malmö], it's in Gothenburg and Stockholm as well. Everywhere around the world, says Stephanie Nilsson.
The fans gathered in Malmö is from all of Skåne [Skåne, province in southern Sweden]. The lov of the band has brought them together. Some of them has hung along since 2005, others have joined later on.
- This is my first favourite band, says 13-year-old Elin Karlsson from Ystad [little city a couple of miles from Malmö]. - I like them for the unity. You get friends from everywhere in the country, people that you've never met before.
Tokio Hotel is awakening a lot of emotions, mostly positive. Extremly positive. The negative emotions? They're coming mostly as a reaction on the positive ones. Only a band that is loved this much can awake other feelings among others, as hate.
- I was a TH-hater in the beginning, Karin Frenning [lol that's me] confesses [that was looong time ago though]. - They were just a big phenomen that was annoying.
journalist: - What made you change opinion?
- I heard them [embarassing lol].
Emma Rosdhal tells us that at first, she saw posters in a girl's room in Germany. She was interested by then. The listening came later.
- They sounded as I thought they would.
For many of them this is an important manifestation, a prideparade for German poprock.
- Some people think that we're ashamed of listening to Tokio Hotel, but we're not, Karin Frenning establishes.
The surroundings has found many reasons to get annoyed by the band and their fans. The girls are accounting some of them:
- Bill has a special style.
- Guys think that you has to be gay to like them, since the girls are fans and since Bill wears a lot of makeup
- People think that they play emo music. [and emo is always wrong, lol. he left out the most important things we said in this part, though.]
The gathering is moving away towards the market stalls where you can buy t-shirts, sweatbands, watch-straps, pins and other things with Tokio Hotel-pictures. Some is buying stuff, others have already got what they need. And the music is the most important thing.
- If I'm sad it's the music that's the thing for me. It helps me to think positive, says Elin Karlsson.
Karin Frenning [me again lol] is about to start high school on Monday - a new environment, with new friends, and new possibilities to get new enemies.
- I'm going to be careful with announcing that I like Tokio Hotel. The classmates should learn to know me as I am before they judge me.
TOKIO HOTEL
Quartet from Magdeburg, germany. Fronted by the twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz, 18 years old.
Breakthrough in their homeland August 2005 with their debut single "Durch den Monsun".
Their third album "Scream" was released last year and consists of English versions of songs that were originally released in German.

Tom's Tour blog
Tom gets ready for the Cleveland show.Welcome everyone to “Tom’s blog”!Yes, we are finally back on tour! We are travelling from city to city on our bus, meeting so many of our awesome fans and have had some wicked shows so far. Since it’s our first real tour in the States and Canada there has seriously been a lot in store for us. So far we visited New York, New Jersey, Montreal and Cleveland. Let me tell you, each of the shows we played so far has been really special in it’s own way. And we are sooo excited to be nominated at the MTV VMAs for “Best Pop Video” and “Best New Artist” thanks to all our fans!
The kick off for our concert run in New Jersey went surprisingly well, which worries me a little. Usually during the first show something goes wrong but this time everything was so smooth! Well, obviously Georg missed some notes but that happens all the time (lol!).
On our way to Montreal it looked like our smooth run would come to an end...we had to wait at the Canadian border for ages since there was a Greyhound bus ahead of us and the officers searched every little bit of it – they even checked all the clothes the people brought with them in their suitcases. Luckily when it was our turn, the officers took it easy – they let us pass without taking our bus apart. Security checks and border controls are definitely not my thing… I just don’t have the very best experience with them!
In Montreal (to be precise, in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu) we performed at an awesome festival with about twenty thousand people. The weather was great and throughout the whole day all kinds of different hot-air balloons rose to the sky. The coolest one of them looked like the head of Darth Vader and I would have loved to be on board that one! But we stayed on the ground and performed a show, which was great – all the fans sang along to each of the songs with us…just amazing
After the show we had a quick stopover at the hotel where we took a shower (yes, Georg did too) and then it was time to get on the tour bus to travel overnight to Cleveland. On the bus we played video games. We played a guitar playing challenge and obviously I beat all the other guys – what a surprise!
After that I went to sleep and woke up the next day in Cleveland where it was really sunny…at least in the morning. Pretty much the rest of the day it rained so we spent most of the day (it was an off day) watching DVDs. Gustav also had a little excursion to Lake Erie and when he came back he was soaking wet - not because he jumped in the lake but because it started to rain so hard!
Let me tell you guys, it’s pretty exciting to be on tour in North America – so many new things to explore. It’s great to be here and I’m looking forward to seeing YOU at one of the concerts soon.
Thanks for all your support at all the concerts so far and also at the MTV VMAs where you all made it possible for us to be nominated TWICE....that’s just unbelievable. Please keep on voting for us as “Best New Artist”
Take care!
Tom

DAVID: Eso no puedo decirlo a tono alzado.
Me tomó totalmente inesperado.
DAVID: El que no he escrito. La primera todavía viene [Risas]
